Institute of Hydraulic Engineering
and Water Resources Management
Laboratory

The modern hydraulics laboratory (built in 2013), covering an area of 2,250 m², provides the institute with excellent opportunities for conducting large-scale model experiments.

The water circulation in the hydraulics laboratory with a pump flow rate of 1,200 l/s consists of a 400 m³ underground tank below the hall floor, an elevated tank, which produces a constant water head of 7 m, and a DN400 ring main. Among other things, the hydraulics laboratory houses the following large apparatus.

  • Tilting flume (l = 30 m, b = h = 1,0 m, Q = 400 l/s, -2,0 bis 5,0 %)
  • Stepped flume (l = 16,6 m, b = 0,5 m, Q = 120 l/s)
  • Annular flume (d = 3,25 m; τ = 0,9 N/m²)
  • Cavitation channel
  • Survey Boat Nelli 2
