The field trip 2017 of the IWW and ISA within Germany and Austria took place from June 5th to 10th, 2017 and was jointly organized by both chairs.
Different companies and projects were presented to the participating students. The knowledge taught in the courses from the different areas of urban water management, hydraulic engineering and water management was presented in a descriptive way to the students using practical experience.
On Pentecost Monday a coach took the students from Aachen to the Mannheim sewage treatment plant. From there the trip led to Nuremberg. On Tuesday, the students visited the sewage treatment plant in Karlsruhe and the flood protection measures in Niederalteich and Winzer. The group then reached Passau. On Wednesday the group visited the hydroelectric power plant in Kachlet and the Museum of Contemporary History Voestalpine in Linz. On Thursday the trip led to the sewage treatment plant and waste incineration plant of Vienna. On Friday the group visited the power plant in Freudenau. The field trip was concluded on Saturday with a visit to the Ennepetalsperre.
